Siradze Selections is a Canadian-based importer dedicated to bringing Georgian wine to new audiences. For the founder, Anna Siradze, the mission is deeply personal: connecting her two homes - Georgia and Canada - through wine.
Despite Canada’s strict regulations, Anna plans to expand her portfolio with five more Georgian wineries by the end of the year. Tboba spoke with her about her vision and how she plans to introduce Georgian wine to Canadian consumers.
T: What inspired you to start importing Georgian wine?
My family is from Georgia, so wine has always been part of my identity. After 12 years in the restaurant industry, I realized how little people in Vancouver knew about Georgian wine. I wanted to change that – to build a bridge between the place I come from and the place I live now.
T: How do you choose the wineries you work with?
I look for wines made with love and authenticity. Georgian wine is a reflection of culture and emotion, and I want that to come through in Canada. I also value transparency, traditional methods, and strong relationships with winemakers.

T: How familiar are Canadians with Georgian wine?
Awareness is growing, especially with amber and skin-contact wines. Right now, Georgian wine is mostly in boutique shops and restaurants, which limits exposure – but it also makes each discovery feel special.
T: What makes Georgian wine unique on the global stage?
It’s the stories, the hospitality, the daring spirit of Georgians. Wine here is more than a drink – it’s a way of sharing yourself. At Siradze Selections, we pair wine with storytelling, hosting tastings and seminars to share Georgia’s 8,000-year winemaking traditions.
T: What advice would you give Georgian winemakers?
Stay true to traditions. Don’t change to meet global demand. The uniqueness of Georgian wine is exactly what makes it so powerful and valuable abroad.
