Aramex - the logistics partner connecting Georgian wine with the world

A reliable logistics partner plays an important role in the international success of Georgian wine. This is exactly the role played by Aramex, the exclusive logistics partner of the Decanter World Wine Awards in Georgia.

At the 2026 competition, Georgian wines once again proved their success on the international stage, and Aramex was part of that journey. Tboba spoke with Aramex General Director Lika Useinashvili about the success of Georgian wine and its activity in international competitions.

T: How do you assess the current trends in Georgian wine exports, and what potential do you see in international markets?

Today, the picture of Georgian wine exports is mixed: in the short term, there are certain challenges, but the long-term potential is clearly growing. This is exactly the space we need to fill together.

In recent years, Georgian wineries have shown a significant increase in both their interest in entering international markets and their participation in international wine competitions. Such competitions are not only another important confirmation of the high quality of Georgian wine, but the awards received also significantly contribute to increasing the wines’ visibility and credibility in international markets.

T: What are the main challenges producers face when entering international markets, and how does Aramex help them?

The main difficulties fall into several areas: access to new markets and distribution, logistics costs and transportation time, customs regulations in different countries, and, most critically, maintaining product quality during transportation.

Aramex addresses these challenges in a comprehensive way: we select optimal transport routes, simplify customs procedures, and ensure temperature control throughout the entire transportation process, so that the wine arrives at its destination in the same condition in which it left the winery.

T: What does supporting the Georgian wine industry mean for Aramex, and why is your partnership with the Decanter World Wine Awards and wine festivals important to you?

This year, the number of applicants wishing to participate in the Decanter international wine competition was the highest compared to the past three years. This once again confirms the growing interest of Georgian winemakers in international recognition and new export opportunities.

For us, this is not just cargo transportation. When a Georgian winemaker receives an international award or enters a new market, we feel that we were part of that journey. The Decanter World Wine Awards, wine festivals, and professional platforms are exactly the spaces where Georgian wine speaks loudly for itself, and we are pleased to be part of this path to success.

Today, as Georgian wine continues to earn more and more international recognition, partnerships that transform local success into global opportunities are especially important.
