On July 17, wine school "Vinemo" organized a tasting of wines made by women entrepreneurs at Sadzvele - a space known for its unique history and architecture.

At the event, 43 samples from 18 wineries were tasted, including 9 white, 15 amber, 5 rosé, and 14 red wines.

In the first stage, the wines were evaluated in a blind tasting format by three groups of tasters. The first group consisted of winemakers, the second of sommeliers, and the third combined wine writers, wine enthusiasts, and representatives of wine sales and marketing.

The purpose of this division was to see which factors representatives of the wine industry pay particular attention to, and whether their perspectives on evaluating wine differ.

The wines were scored using the OIV 100-point system. The five highest-scoring wines were:

• Ambokhi - Saperavi 2024

• Tamarini - Saperavi Qvevri 2020

• Lagvani - Rkatsiteli Qvevri 2019

• Mamiseuli - Rkatsiteli Qvevri 2022

• Mogzauri - Mtsvivani 2025

After the blind tasting concluded and scores were recorded, the tasters also evaluated the wine labels. As part of the discussion, they talked about which factors producers should consider in the branding process and what kind of label might be more appealing to consumers.

In the label evaluation the following companies received the best ratings: "Argvani," "Japara," "Lagvani," Ambokhi," "Orta," "Antos Wines," "Birtvisi Winery," and "Apkhazas Marani."

Based on the results of the tasting, a masterclass is planned for representatives of the HoReCa sector, during which the above-listed and other high-scoring wines will be presented.
